1. What is Plus Sizing?
Stock vehicles are designed with standard tire and wheel packages from the manufacturer that are designated to perform and look as best seen by the manufacturer. By increasing the sizing of wheels, handling and cornering ability can be enhanced with minimal effects in comfort.
Plus 1: when the wheel replacing factory wheels are bigger by one inch. Example: Original equipment wheels and tires : 205/55R16 New replacement custom wheel and tires: 215/45R17.
Plus sizing is a good way to enhance the look and performance of your vehicle.
2. How do I maintain my wheel finish?
Keep a regular maintenance schedule to retain the original look of your wheels. The first thing that should be done(if possible) is waxing the wheels at the time of installation, and then continuing to wax them as you would your car, This will prevent excessive exposure and protection from dirt and other harmful materials(like brake dust or salt). Always wash by hand with mild soap and water. Never use abrasive materials or cleaning agents. Never wash a wheel while it is hot.
3. What is Offset?
Offset is the relation of the mounting surface of the wheel, to the center of the wheel. A positive offset means the mounting surface is closer to the face of the wheel thus moving the wheel further under the vehicle and a negative offset would be the opposite intern, widening the stance of the vehicle.
4. Can I get replacement center caps/logos for my wheels?
Yes; contact one of our Street Gear retailers with your wheel and vehicle information so they can order a replacement cap/logo for you.
5. How do I know what fits my vehicle?
There are several things to look at when finding wheels to fit your vehicle. First is bolt pattern, this is a combination of how many bolts and the measured diameter on each (ex. 5/114.3 = 5 bolts @114.3mm diameter). Second is offset which determines where the wheel is intended to sit in relation to the hub of the vehicle. Lastly is rim diameter which can be plus or minus sized in most cases from the vehicles original spec.
